New Years 2013: Dear Eli

Dear baby boy,

Tonight was your first night of putting yourself to sleep in your own crib. It kind of makes me sad because I'm so used to holding and snuggling you every night, but you and I both need this (as well as your dad and new baby brother coming out soon). For the past 9 months, I've been doing my best to make sure you continue to have the best only child experience you can have. As you may not know, your brother wasn't planned, but I wouldn't change it for anything. I can't wait to see how loving and over-protective you're going to be with him, just as you are with me. I can only hope and pray that you guys have each others backs no matter what.

I am currently 39 weeks, and 4 days as I write this. You are 18 months and 2 weeks. You'll always be my baby...and my first true love.
